(post 56)- evaluation question 4

How did you use media technologies to in the construction of research, planning and evaluation stages?

 During A2 (year 13) and throughout the process of completing our music video, me Lily and Daisy used media technologies to help us with the construction of our music video and the research which helped us plan throughout the process. This year, we learnt how to use a wider range of media technologies. 




All of the products above, mainly Photoshop and Adobe premier pro were the most useful, but also a challenge to use. We were having to learn how to use them through our own knowledge (which in some areas was proven difficult) because if you didn't know how to use a certain tool or editing technique, you would have to research how to do it yourself. This is where the internet (media technology) came in useful. The internet was a quick and easy way to gather the research we needed to help plan and produce our final product. For example  searching how to do certain editing oh Photoshop or on Adobe Premier Pro. The internet also helped us search for music videos which already existed and artists album covers which all gave us inspiration.  This was a great way of widening our groups knowledge in these areas of technology  to then be able to use it again in the future. 

 An example of using Photoshop would be the Ancillary tasks one and two. The Digipack and the Poster. These were key aspects of our final product because they help tie in everything together, such as the song, the artist, the characters used in the music video and images/ sets which might have been shown throughout the process of our final cut. The poster below was created on Photoshop and in my opinion it has make it look more professional than what it would look like on a word document as such. The reasoning I feel this way is because you are able to layer pictures on-top of pictures on Photoshop as well as making sure to blend it all together. We were really pleased with our outcome. 



All of the media technologies which were used helped us create the final product and the planning for the build up. In conclusion, if we couldn't have used these media technologies we would have found it difficult to produce something the way we did.

(post 45) - final setting(s)

No changes have been made to the settings outlines since the planning stage so we are working from the settings outlines below.  SETTING Are you familiar with the term 'setting'? I am familiar with the term setting and in my opinion, it means the place or type of surroundings where something is positioned or where an event takes place. So in our situation, the setting would be in a house near the beach. As that is where we are filming our music video. What settings   do you consider 'setting' using in your music video? For our video we want to portray the present day, with a variety of shots in and out of a victorian beach house located in Lowestoft, Suffolk. The season will be winter as my group and I thought this time of year would compliment our ideas. (post 23) - Audience Research

In this task, we were set to go into town which is a busy, built up area to ask a variety of different people what their opinions and views are of music videos and how they consume them. We have been set the task of starting our audience research for our coursework; which will give us a clearer idea on what the consumers would want to see from our work for it to be successful. We decided the most effective way of collecting this information is to make a video, asking people from around Wymondham and our sixth form to gain a further insight to what people think makes a good music video. By asking the public we will get a variety of ages, which will help us get more inclusive answers to our questions, rather than if we just stayed in sixth form and asked our peers. But by also asking within sixth form we get more information from our actual target audience, which is younger people as they are more likely to relate to the content from our video.
