(post 27)- planning - setting
Are you familiar with the term 'setting'?
I am familiar with the term setting and in my opinion, it means the place or type of surroundings where something is positioned or where an event takes place. So in our situation, the setting would be in a house near the beach. As that is where we are filming our music video.
What settings do you consider 'setting' using in your music video?
The time of day:
I think we would film throughout the day and watch the daylight turn in to night time. This will help identify that we haven't rushed the filming process. We were also thinking about filming over the course of two days so we experience the early, frosty mornings and get that effect on camera. We would also would like the filming to take place inside and outside so we can involve natural lighting as well as unnatural lighting.
How will they create a mise-en-scene?
Fist of all, what is mis en scene? Mis en scene is the arrangement of the scenery, props, etc, on the stage of a theatrical production on the set of a film. It could also be the the settings or surroundings of an event. So in the music video, me, Lily and Daisy are creating we would like to create a peaceful, calm scenery with no wild, crazy differences to what the two sisters feel in their everyday life. Examples of props which we would use are things like, a kettle, mug and tea bag in order to make cups of tea in the morning/ evening, or a television remote which we would use to turn the tv on. We were thinking it would be quite creative to film the shots which we need and then edit them in slow motion to make it feel quite moving, so that the audience in some senses can feel the same way as the twin sisters do. This will help allow the audience to get a sense of their relationship as said before.
I also feel as though this style of setting and filming (in slow motion) could link well to the style of music which we are using because it is slow and not heavy.
