(post 9) - I've watched a film
Recently, we were asked to watch a new film that we hadn't seen before:

The film I watched was called 'Loving'.
I had never heard of this film before which was interesting because it is always a good thing to watch something new, and it was a different type of film to which I normally watch. The story line was about how people treat couples in the states of America who are Black and White, which is mixing races together. It was illegal in the time period this film was set in, therefore the couple who were in love, were arrested many times as it was illegal for them together. They were sent away from their families and from the town where they lived because of the crime they committed. They weren't allowed to come back to the town for 25 years. Therefore they moved away and had three children, then they found lawyers which were willing to help them fight their case and try their hardest to make it legal for mixed race marriages to become legal. Eventually they won their case after many years of fighting for it.

I found this film really good, and extremely moving because you don't think that this sort of situation happened in the past because it is so normal now. The way the costumes were made and how realistic it looked in the time frame of which era is was supposed to be in was successful (1950/60s). The one thing I found which was quite interesting was how there wasn't an overloaded amount of dialogue. it was very simplistic but expressed many different emotions by their facial expressions and body language which is a successful thing to show in a music video because obviously there won't be dialogue with the music being set over the filming.
I would definitely recommend this film to people as it is moving but puts a good story line across, and it moreover allows you to understand what the history of people's races were like and how it effected many people in that time era. Also, it was based on a true story which always hits home a bit more than what isn't true.
